Company History
Salzburg Schokolade is a traditional Austrian sweets manufacturer situated at the gates of Mozart's city of Salzburg. The origins of Salzburg Schokolade go back as far as the 19th century. The enterprise was founded in the city of Salzburg of that time.
1897
Establishment of the Rajsigl-Süßwarenfabrik in the Vierthalerstraße in Salzburg.
1948
Establishment of a branch in Grödig.
1956
Final move to the new factory in Grödig.
1967
Change from manual production to automatic production of the Echten Salzburger Mozartkugel according to a patented process.
1975
Sale of a majority share to Suchard.
1980
100% takeover by Suchard and appointment of new management.
1982
Takeover of "Interfood" by Jacobs (Jacobs Suchard).
1990
Takeover of Jacobs Suchard by Kraft Foods International.
1994
The factory is bought by the Pöll family; it is the start of "Salzburg Schokolade" as a privately owned Austrian enterprise. Restructuring and reorientation.
1996
Fusion with Salzburg Sweets, continuation of the Sweets products under the name of Salzburg Schokolade.
